The products are used as general purpose co-promoters in most unsaturated polyester resin formulations. Because these products maintain a lower colour, they offer a distinct advantage as co-promoters.

They are also used for creating artificial flavours of natural materials such as coffee, strawberries & yellow passion fruit. The products serve as intermediates in the synthesis of perfumery ingredients like Methylumbelliferon, damascenone analogues as well as musk fragrances like acetylated tetralins & indanes.
